1. Most diverse of the Olympian Deities. Apollo has the most diverse gifts of all the gods. He is not one of the main three gods(which include Hades, Zeus, Poseidon), although he is very important to Greek culture.
2. Born on the island of Delos. Delos was an island that Poseidon raised from the sea and was barren. There was only one palm tree which Apollo and Artemis were bornn under. When Hera found out that Leto was bearing the children of Zeus she told everyone to refuse her on there land.
3. Many romantic flings including Cassandra, Daphne, and Calliope. All flings with Nymphs and Mortals.
4. Apollo had one kid named Asclepius. Asclepius' mother cheated on Apollo with another man and Apollo killed the princess but snatched the baby before she was burned.
5. Destroyed the evil serpent, Python, at Delphoi. He slayed this dragon with his arrow.
6. Loved the nymph Daphne, who is now a tree. Apollo loved Daphne but Daphne was a member of his sister's followers. He chased her one day and while she was running, she prayed to her father to turn her into a tree. He listened to her and right in front of Apollo
7. Has a twin who is named Artemis. Artemis is the Greek goddess of Hunt. She is the super sexy, virgin goddess. Being a virgin, for her, means being at that stage in life when you are most attractive to eligible bachelors and yet still titillatingly off limits. She is committed to her mother unlike Athena. She is very sweet and loving but she has a mean side. Artemis and Apollo are very close to their mother, Leto, and each other.
8. Symbols: bow, lyre, and laurel.
9. Apollo has the wrath of Hera. Hera was mad that Zeus was having a baby with Leto, not her. Hera made it so no one would allow Leto on their island. Poseidon created an island in the sea for Leto to give birth on. Hera gave upon her wrath to Apollo. He shall never be married.
10. Apollo had to two flings with two men, Kyparissos and Hyakinthos. Neither lasted very long.
